Linking people with services in Fairfield County

 

Food

Fairfield County 2-1-1 (2-1-1) coordinates referrals to food pantries in Fairfield County for individuals and families. To get a food referral, call the 2-1-1 office at 740-687-0500 or 2-1-1 anytime between 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday. An I&R Specialist will review the different pantries and you can choose which pantry (within guidelines) you would like to visit. When you arrive at the food pantry, you will need social security cards for all members of the family and a photo ID for all adults as well as proof of Fairfield County residency.

Eye Glasses

In partnership with The Lions Club and Gift of Sight, Fairfield County 2-1-1 provides assistance for eye glasses and in some cases, eye exams. Qualifications for eye glasses include Fairfield County residency for at least six months, proof of income, social security cards for everyone in the house hold, proof of address, and eye prescription if applicable. Please call 740-687-0500or 2-1-1 between 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday for more information. 

Financial Assistance

If you need help with rent, utilities, electric, etc. and live in Fairfield County , 2-1-1 will provide you with agencies that may be able to assist. Please call 740-687-0500 or 2-1-1 between 8:00am and 4:30pm Monday through Friday for more information. 

Medications

In some cases, Fairfield County 2-1-1 can refer to agencies that may be able to help with prescription medications on a short term basis. Unfortunately, there is no assistance for pain or psychotropic medications. Please call 740-687-0500 or 2-1-1 between 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday for more information.

Fairfield Couty 2-1-1 in parternship with Charity Newsies assists with school clothes for children in first through twelfth grade.

Fairfield County 2-1-1 in partnership with other agencies, offers assistance with holiday food and gifts.

FMHCG, Inc./Our Place is a dynamic peer center for education, support, advocacy, socialization and more. Since 1996, Our Place has been bringing together consumers of mental health and addiction services in the Fairfield County area to develop peer services which enhance RECOVERY. Currently, Our Place offers a Respite Care program, and is actively working on a transitional housing program. Additionally, Our Place is a certified BRIDGES teaching site, with the next class to begin around March -April, 2005.

The Pickerington Food Pantry is provided to residents in need who live in the Pickerington School District.

The Pickerington Food Pantry would not exist without the generous support, work, and donations from the Pickerington Community.

We are always in need of donations and volunteers to help out. Please contact Beth or Tammy.  Donations can be dropped off during Food Pantry hours

SOCIL, a Center for Independent Living, is a consumer controlled, cross disability, non-residential program providing services to Fairfield and Hocking Counties. It is funded in part by the US Department of Education under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. SOCIL promotes a philosophy of self-determination, peer support, self-help and self-advocacy, system advocacy, and equal access to society. SOCIL believes that people with disabilities have the right to choices and opportunities in society that support and maximize their empowerment, inclusion, leadership, independence and full participation in community life. SOCIL offers a wide variety of services, but four are essential in the efforts of people with disabilities to live independently.
