Welcome
to Meals on Wheels of Stark & Wayne Counties
For almost 35 years, Meals On Wheels of Stark & Wayne Counties
has been serving homebound and nutritionally at risk individuals
across the two-county area. Since the inception of the agency, more
than 9 million meals have been served to individuals throughout
our community and that service continues daily, Monday through Friday,
as more than 2,000 meals are served up.
Our service provides much
more than a hot meal. Our volunteers are often a homebound
client’s only daily contact, so we make sure any concerns
are immediately brought to the attention of the closest family member
or emergency contact. Lives have been saved because of the
quick response of dedicated volunteers and staff. We offer
peace of mind, as well as nutritional support.
Service is available to ANY homebound individual, regardless of
age. Depending upon eligibility, reduced costs are available.
New clients can be processed within two
working days.
We offer regular and diabetic
meals and all are low salt/ sodium and low fat. Hot meals, frozen
meals, sack suppers and breakfasts are available. We also
provide a variety of liquid supplements, which require a physician’s
referral.
Included
within our 21 delivery sites throughout Stark and Wayne Counties,
are a number of congregate dining centers located at churches,
senior centers and senior housing facilities. Meals
are served around noon, Monday through Friday. Dining
guests have the opportunity to visit, read, play cards or
take part in planned activities. For a list of participating
locations, call the Administrative Office at 330-832-7220

The early years of
a child's life are critical to healthy brain development and
to their physical, social, emotional and cognitive growth
and progression. Research has shown that a child's future
academic success culminates in a process that begins with
experiences in infancy through the preschool years. It is
imperative that children be given optimal chances to develop
in high quality environments with skilled and loving caregivers.
In response to a community needs assessment in 1998, the
Sisters of
Charity Foundation of Canton
identified a need for available, good quality, trustworthy
child care in Stark County Ohio. The Foundation's Quality
Child Care Initiative, a multi-part strategy, was developed
and the Early Childhood Resource Center (ECRC) was established
in 2000, as an integral part of the Initiative. As a ministry
of the Sisters
of Charity of St. Augustine , the ECRC has operational
oversight by the CSA Ministries Corporation, a non-profit
charitable corporation.
The mission of the
Early Childhood Resource Center is to improve the quality
of early care and education in Stark County, through comprehensive
professional development, resources, and support services
for individuals working in all early childhood settings. |
